In this article we will learn about what is static electricity. Before starting the topic we should know about the matter the atom is the smallest particle . it is made up of two charge carriers that is electron and proton . Here neutron carries neutral charge. Electron is negatively charge ions and proton is positively charged ions.
Static electricity is also called electrostatic. Static electricity is defined as the static electric charge which is produced by the friction and cause spark when it comes in contact of the negatively charged ions.
how static electricity made
when we rubbed any two material which is not electrically good conductor. they create an imbalance between the charge carriers that are balanced . all of you know that a neutral contains balanced charged carriers that means equal number of electron and proton. when we rubbed the two material it creates a heavy imbalance between the charge carriers. thatswhy static electricity is stored on that object or body.
Example of static electricity
When a balloon rubbed on the hair for a while and when we take the balloon to near the pieces of paper . The pieces of papers are trying to stick on the balloon. This is due to the static electricity.
The another example of the static electricity is that when the comb is rubbed in hair for a while and try to bring near the pieces of paper. the pieces of paper are trying to lift the pieces of paper.
the other examples of the static electricity is that when you rubbed the ballon for a while and when you try to bring near the body then you realised that the ballon stick with your body. this is also an example of the static electricity.
