Induction furnance is widely used in industries for melting of materials. It is available from few kgs to tons. Induction furnance works on the principle of faraday’s law of mutual induction same as the working of transformer. Induction heating is non-contact form of heating. In induction furnance heat is produced when a piece of metal is kept in the changing magnetic field. When we give the supply to the coil and due to the circuit completed current flows in the coil and magnetic field is produced. An alternative magnetic field induces eddy current loss in the metal due to mutual induction which converts electrical energy into heat energy.
